Płyta "Eight rocks from grandma's box" tria KaMaSz jest kunsztownym eksperymentem z narracją jazzową. Poszczególne kompozycje przechodzą płynnie od wątku do wątku, zdradzając kolejne inspiracje. Trójce muzyków udało się pomieścić na jednej płycie wiele mikronarracji, które tworzą homogeniczną całość.
Sami swoją muzykę nazywają "Elektroakustycznym miejskim folklorem bez podziału na kategorie".

Emocjonująca, wielowątkowa narracja przebiega przez świat zaszyfrowanych znaczeń i podlega procesom tajemniczych przemian. Z jednej strony pojawiające się zaskakujące zwroty akcji, coraz to nowe pomysły, wpędzają słuchacza w stan pobudzenia, z drugiej wszystko ma swój logiczny powód i konsekwencje, a co ważniejsze wyczuwa się muzyczną intrygę, która wciąga bez reszty.

Każdy z trójki muzyków redefiniuje swój dotychczasowy język. Marek Kądziela wytracił gdzieś swoją gęstą artykulację, nieco wycofany Jacek Mazurkiewicz jak już zabierze głos, to jest on ważny i donośny, Krzysztof Szmańda poszerzając swoje instrumentarium o gongi i misy odważnie wychodzi poza idiom jazzu. Wszystko jest jednocześnie poukładane, wyraziste i mięsiste.

KaMaSz prezentuje muzykę oscylującą między pełnokrwistym jazzem, zmysłową elektroniką, natchnionym etno a współczesną kameralistyką. Słuchacz czuje się jak powieściowa Alicja, poruszająca się w czasie i przestrzeni realnej i wyobrażonej zarazem.

Marek Kądziela - doctor of musical arts, guitarist, composer, innovator, seeking new sounds and musical challenges. Head of the Jazz Department of the Academy of Music Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz in Łódź. A graduate of jazz guitar and composition at The Carl Nielsen Academy of Music in Denmark. Laureate of numerous competitions and the leader of recognized music formations. An active musician and experienced pedagogue and cultural animator. Invited to various music projects from jazz through folk to contemporary and experimental music. He has performed with musicians such as: Steven Bernstein, Piotr Wojtasik, Leszek Możdżer, Adam Bałdych, Michał Urbaniak, Piotr Baron, Maciej Obara and many others.

Jacek Mazurkiewicz - contrabasist, composer. He is interested in a wide range of music.
“I’m inspired by people, situations, places, colours, scents and by other things related to my life. Lots of melodies and musical structures pass through in my mind quite quickly... Some pieces are inspired by sounds of a city; others are connected with places and people.”
He composes his sounds into pieces on the basis of emotional experience and an instinctual pulse.
Mazurkiewicz enjoys combining acoustic and electronic music, always searching for a new sound.
He mainly creates autonomous projects - 3FoNIA, MODULAR STRING TRIO, INNER EAR MASSAGE PARLOUR, JACHNA / MAZURKIEWICZ / BUHL, MIKOŁAJ TRZASKA & JACEK MAZURKIEWICZ
In his spare time he contemplates tonal-vibratory musical therapy, working on original instruments for rehabilitation purposes.

Krzysztof Szmańda graduated in percussion from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in 1999. From 2000 to 2002, he pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles’s Thornton School of Music, where he honed his skills with such musicians as Peter Erskine, Ndugu Chancler, Erik Forrester and John Clayton. He is a founder member of the Soundcheck ensemble of Poznań, which in 2004 won the international jazz-blues competition in Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic) and in 2005 the Grand Prix in the Jazz nad Odrą festival in Wrocław, where he was also singled out by the festival jury. That same year, Soundcheck won Second Prize in the Crocus Jazz Festival in Jelenia Góra and the ‘Career Key’ in the Gorzów Jazz Celebration.
Szmańda works with the Big Band of the Tygmont club in Warsaw run by Zbigniew Namysłowski, and also with the ensembles of Kuba Stankiewicz and Inga Lewandowska, Mariusz Bogdanowicz, Zbigniew Wrombel, Marcin Olak, Oleg Kireyev and Keith Javors, as well as the Trifonidis Orchestra.
He is a member of the Kattorna international jazz quintet, which in October 2006 won the audience prize in the Berlin Jazz Award competition and a month later Third Prize in the Crocus Jazz Festival in Jelenia Góra, where Szmańda also received a special prize.
Szmańda is a permanent member of the orchestra of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw and also works with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Sinfonia Varsovia.
